Duane Hewitt is a molecular biologist who has had a twenty year career in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. He is currently combining his lab experience with his farming heritage in his new venture, Forest Fruits Mushrooms. Mushrooms are fascinating organisms that are more closely related to us than you might expect. They play a keystone role in recycling organic materials and therefore can be grown on what are usually considered agricultural waste products. Mushrooms are tasty but many also convey health benefits to consumers.
