Sunrise by the Lake

On Sunday, August 27, 2023, we held a meetup to watch the sunrise together over lake Ontario.

“Never miss another sunrise the rest of your life!”

Dr. Jack Kruse

For some of us, getting up to see the sunrise every day is a new habit. Making a social event of it is a great way to reinforce a new habit. In many parts of the city, it can be difficult to see the early morning sun when it is still pink or orange, coming over the horizon, due to many building and trees obstructing our view of the horizon. Where can we get an unobstructed view of the horizon?

The shores of lake Ontario!

The lakeshore is the perfect place, as it provides a nice, flat horizon for sunrise viewing. For this kind of meetup, we meet in the parking lot and hike down the hill together. We enjoyed watching the pink and orange sun rise above the horizon of lake Ontario and we picked rosehips from the lake shore. If you missed this event, we will hold another one soon!
